Digital Content Specialist/Special Sections Editor

Do you love wrangling words for digital channels? Are you a wordsmith at heart who procures authoritative, compelling content with a keen understanding of the dynamics involved in created it for an online audience? Can you create organically searchable content and tag it appropriately, so it appears where you command it to throughout your and others’ WordPress sites or social channels? If so, we have a great opportunity for you to join our editorial team as Digital Content Specialist. Working alongside our award-winning editors who produce Minnesota Monthly, Midwest Home, Meetings + Events, and other national and local publications, you will be a key contributor to the digital direction of these and myriad other products. You will interact with multiple departments, company leaders, and external clients. In this highly hands-on role, you will be involved in both the tactical and strategic initiatives for all Greenspring digital properties.

But wait—there’s more! This position will also be responsible for managing special sections for Greenspring’s core publications. Are you a high-energy, multitasking maniac, with exceptional wordsmithing and editing skills? If so, this role is doubly perfect for you! As a special sections editor, you should have a keen eye for detail and excellent writing skills, exhibit good design judgment, and the ability to manage projects to completion, both in print and online.

Preferred applicants should be looking to learn the ins and outs of magazine publishing and should have actual content development experience across digital and social media platforms, as well as enough web design/development experience to bring that content to life. A college degree is required, along with 1-2 years consumer-facing experience using PHP, HTML, JavaScript, CSS, and WordPress. Editing experience preferred.
